Meta Reportedly Developing Camera-Free Smart Glasses Called Luna

Meta is reportedly working on a version of its smart glasses that omits a camera, according to new reports covered by Decrypt and GSMArena.

The device is said to be called Luna. GSMArena reports that the glasses are expected to be revealed at Meta's annual developer conference, scheduled for September 23 and 24, with shipments to follow in October. According to that report, the glasses will include six built-in microphones.

Meta's existing smart glasses feature a camera, which has drawn privacy objections. Decrypt reported that a camera-free model could address one of the main privacy concerns tied to AI wearables. The reports note that not all users want or need a camera on such devices.
