Paris FinTech and Voice AI Startups Draw Major Cross-Border Capital

Aria Targets Europe's Late-Payment Problem

Separately, Paris-based FinTech scale-up Aria raised a €7 million Series A extension and launched a €240 million debt facility, EU-Startups reported. Aria operates an embedded invoice financing platform designed to help businesses receive payment on time, addressing what the outlet described as Europe's late-payment crisis.

The equity round was led by 115K, the venture capital arm of La Banque Postale, with returning investor 13books Capital also participating. The round brings Aria's total Series A to €22 million, and 115K will take a seat on the company's board. Aria plans to direct the funds toward AI tooling, new hires, and client onboarding.

The debt facility is arranged across two vehicles. According to EU-Startups, the primary structure is a securitisation fund led by Nomura, with participation from Fost, described as a bankruptcy-remote vehicle. Aria purchases invoices from suppliers and transfers the receivables to the fund, which issues securities to investors backed by buyers' future payments; as buyers settle invoices, the cash recycles to finance new purchases. A separate legal vehicle received additional commitments from Sienna and Montpensier Arbevel.

CEO and co-founder Clément Carrier, quoted by EU-Startups, said no business owner should spend an average of 86 hours a year chasing late payments, adding that the equivalent of more than two working weeks is spent contacting customers rather than growing the business.

A Growing Corridor

Both deals underscore how European startups are attracting capital from across borders, including US technology firms and Japanese financial institutions. For companies eyeing expansion into markets across Africa and beyond, such internationally backed funding rounds illustrate the deepening links between European innovation hubs and global investors.
