Raspberry Pi has increased the price of several of its 16GB products, with the flagship 16GB Raspberry Pi 5 rising by $80 to $385. That is more than triple the $120 the model launched at in January 2025.
The company's chief executive, Eben Upton, announced the changes in a blog post. Alongside the Pi 5, the 16GB Compute Module 5 variants are going up by $40. According to Tom's Hardware, the launch and current prices include the Raspberry Pi 5 16GB ($120 to $385), the Compute Module 5 16GB ($135 to $425), and the Raspberry Pi 500+ 16GB ($199 to $485). The price increases for the Pi 5 and Compute Module 5 take effect immediately, while the Raspberry Pi 500+ 16GB all-in-one is not being raised at this time.
Upton attributed the move to steep increases in memory costs over the past two years, pointing to a lack of alternative supply for 16GB DRAM worsened by other ongoing component shortages. He noted that other computer makers have made similar decisions recently, and said Raspberry Pi had worked to limit the costs passed to customers.
