
SAP Acquires Berlin AI Lab Prior Labs in €1B+ Deal 18 Months After Launch
SAP has completed its acquisition of German frontier AI lab Prior Labs, backed by more than €1 billion, just 18 months after the company was founded.

SAP has completed its acquisition of Prior Labs, a Berlin-based frontier AI lab, in a transaction backed by more than €1 billion, according to reports from EU-Startups and Tech.eu. The deal comes about 18 months after the company was founded and follows a €9 million pre-Seed round in 2025.
According to the two outlets, SAP's investment will support infrastructure, hiring, and long-term frontier research. Prior Labs is set to continue operating under its own brand, leadership, research agenda and customer relationships, and will keep publishing its research and making its models openly available with SAP's support.
