ShinyHunters Hijacks Cl0p Ransomware Gang's Dark Web Leak Site
The ShinyHunters extortion group took over the Cl0p ransomware operation's Tor leak site and is demanding an extortion payment, according to security reporting.

The extortion group known as ShinyHunters has seized control of the dark web leak site operated by the Cl0p ransomware gang, according to material posted on the site over the weekend.
The Record from Recorded Future News reported that ShinyHunters hijacked the Tor-based leak site used by Cl0p and posted a demand for an extortion payment.
BleepingComputer reported that ShinyHunters breached the leak site, defaced it, and allegedly took server data along with the private keys for the site's onion service. Cl0p is also referred to as Cl0p in some spellings and Clop in others across the coverage.
Cl0p has been a prolific ransomware operation, while ShinyHunters is described as an extortion group. The takeover marks a case of one cybercrime group turning its methods against another.
