Skello Secures €200M to Grow AI Workforce Platform Across Europe

How the platform works

Skello's software is aimed at frontline employees, who make up a large share of Europe's workforce. Ventureburn notes that many employers still build shift schedules manually or with spreadsheet tools such as Excel.

The platform lets managers design shifts using inputs like revenue forecasts, historical data and available staffing. Employees, in turn, can access their schedules, request shift swaps and record their working hours through a mobile application. The company's product suite spans scheduling, payroll, compliance and planning functions for employers.

Skello has also been developing artificial intelligence capabilities. The company previously announced work on a tool referred to as the Skello Assistant, designed to detect patterns within workforce data.

Workforce management is a broadly applicable category, and demand for automated scheduling and compliance tools is not limited to Europe. As European players like Skello scale up on the back of large funding rounds, their expansion strategies — including any future moves into new regions or acquisition activity — are relevant signals for founders, employers and investors tracking the flow of enterprise software between Europe and Africa.
