Snap Opens Pre-Orders for $2,195 Standalone Specs AR Glasses
Snap is taking pre-orders for its Specs augmented reality glasses, which work without a phone and carry a $2,195 price tag.

Snap, the company formerly known as Snapchat, has begun accepting pre-orders for its augmented reality glasses, called Specs, according to GSMArena.
The device is a standalone product that operates without needing to connect to a phone or a computer. It is priced at $2,195. Snap spun off the Specs division responsible for the glasses earlier this year, and the finished product carries the same name.
GSMArena reports that the glasses feature a see-through transparent display with a 51-degree field of view. According to the outlet, the visual is described as comparable to viewing a 115-inch screen from about 10 feet away. Other listed hardware includes a camera indicator light, dual Snapdragon processors, and a magnetic 5-pin charging connection.
