Spain's Multiverse Computing Seeks Up to $570M at $1.7B Valuation

The $1.7bn figure would represent a fivefold increase over the valuation at its Series B, when it raised $215m, the scaleup said.

Multiverse Computing operates at the intersection of AI and quantum technology, offering tools it says can shrink large language models. Its core technology, CompactifAI, is based on quantum physics and is designed to make LLMs smaller and cheaper so they can run on edge devices. The company says the approach can reduce model size by 80 to 95 per cent with minimal loss of accuracy.

The scaleup is betting that AI is shifting toward edge devices such as mobile phones and smart cameras, processing data directly rather than relying on large data centres to lower cost and energy use. According to Tech.eu, its technology is already being used across devices and systems including drones, cameras, satellites and vehicles.
