
Square Links Up With ChatGPT and Claude to Reach AI Shoppers

Square has announced integrations with two of the most widely used AI assistants, launching a ChatGPT app and a plugin for Anthropic's Claude. The move is designed to place sellers directly inside the conversations where shoppers increasingly make buying decisions, according to Finextra Research.
What Square Announced
The payments company said the new tools will help merchants get discovered and transact at the precise moment a customer is weighing a purchase during an AI-powered chat. Rather than requiring buyers to leave a conversation and navigate to a separate storefront, the integrations aim to fold discovery and checkout into the assistant experience itself.
