
StandardX raises £10M seed to scale rare isotope production for medicine and fusion
The UK deeptech startup will develop an accelerator-based refinery to produce isotopes used in cancer care and energy, aiming to strengthen Europe's supply of critical rare materials.

Deeptech company StandardX has secured £10 million in seed funding to build out its accelerator-based isotope refinery and boost output of rare isotopes used in medicine and energy applications.
The round was led by Vsquared Ventures and East X Ventures, with participation from firstminute capital, UKI2S (the UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund), Brevan Howard Macro Venture and Geometry. Sifted reported the investment as an exclusive.
Founded in 2025 by Richard Pearson, who serves as chief executive, and Ross Allen, the chief technology officer, StandardX was set up by two nuclear engineers with prior experience building startups. The company is developing an isotope refinery designed to manufacture a range of isotopes at commercial scale.
