Tether is moving USDT beyond crypto trading and into private credit through a new fund set up with Fasanara Capital, according to reporting from BitKE and CoinDesk.
The StableFund starts with $400 million and could expand to $3 billion with additional institutional capital, BitKE reported. The vehicle is designed to direct financing toward small and medium-sized businesses that have historically had limited access to conventional credit.
Under the arrangement, Fasanara will source and underwrite the loans, while Tether will identify USDT-linked financing opportunities and supply the stablecoin settlement infrastructure that links digital assets with traditional currencies, according to CoinDesk and BitKE.
