Three technology companies in the United States and the United Kingdom have announced new funding rounds, targeting markets that range from data centre power delivery to orbital defence and diabetes monitoring.
VEIR, a US-based power technology firm, raised $110 million in an oversubscribed Series C round co-led by Matter Venture Partners and Tyche Partners, according to Ventureburn. LG Technology Ventures, Gates Frontier and others took part, alongside existing backers Engine Ventures and Piva Capital. The round lifts VEIR's total capital raised to $225 million. The company develops superconducting power delivery systems, combining superconducting cables with cryogenic cooling, controls, termination units and monitoring technology, with the aim of moving more electricity through a smaller physical footprint. Its initial focus is behind-the-meter power delivery for AI data centres. VEIR says it has demonstrated a 3-megawatt superconducting power delivery system, and will use the new capital to expand manufacturing capacity, advance its product portfolio and prepare for commercial deployments.
