Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, is walking away from its cryptocurrency plans with Crypto.com, according to reporting from CoinDesk, Cointelegraph and Decrypt.
The company is unwinding an arrangement with Crypto.com that would have established a multibillion-dollar treasury built around the CRO token, Cointelegraph reported. Cointelegraph also reported that the firm will not proceed with integrating prediction markets into Truth Social.
Decrypt described the move as the termination of two major Crypto.com deals, tied to a shift under new leadership toward media, data licensing and a planned merger with fusion energy company TAE.
CoinDesk reported that the pullback comes as the company refocuses on its media business and its pending merger with a fusion energy firm, framing the retreat against a cooling in the digital asset treasury trend.
