Uber and Chinese autonomous driving company Pony.ai are expanding their robotaxi cooperation across Europe, with plans to deploy a fleet of more than 2,000 self-driving vehicles, according to reporting by Tech.eu and electrive.com.
The partners intend to launch services in four additional European cities beyond Zagreb, where the companies previously worked with Croatian mobility firm Verne to introduce commercial robotaxis. Pony.ai has not disclosed which cities will be targeted or a timeline for deployment.
The collaboration goes back to May 2025, when Pony.ai and Uber first announced plans to bring Pony.ai robotaxis onto the Uber platform in international markets. Pony.ai supplies autonomous driving systems and self-driving trucks in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
