
UK FCA Publishes Final Guidance on Regulated Crypto Activities
Britain's Financial Conduct Authority has clarified which crypto-asset activities will require authorisation under a new regime taking effect in October 2027.

Britain's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has released final guidance detailing which crypto-asset activities will fall within its incoming regulatory regime, according to reporting by BitKE and Cointelegraph.
The guidance, set out in Policy Statement PS26/18 and published on September 16 2026, explains when crypto businesses will need FCA authorisation under rules scheduled to take effect on October 25 2027. BitKE reported that firms have less than six months to prepare their applications before transitional arrangements close.
The regime is set to cover a range of activities, including crypto-asset custody, running trading platforms, dealing and arranging deals, crypto-asset staking, and the issuance of qualifying stablecoins.
