
UK Regulator Targets Three London Sites Over Unregistered P2P Crypto Trading
The Financial Conduct Authority issued cease-and-desist letters at three London premises suspected of running unregistered peer-to-peer crypto businesses.

Britain's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) said it has intensified its enforcement against illegal peer-to-peer (P2P) cryptocurrency trading, focusing on three London premises suspected of operating as unregistered crypto businesses.
The operation was carried out on September 10 2026 alongside HM Revenue & Customs and the Metropolitan Police Service. According to the FCA, cease-and-desist letters were issued at each of the three locations, ordering the suspected businesses to halt their activities.
P2P crypto trading refers to individuals buying and selling digital assets directly with each other. In Britain, anyone conducting this type of activity as a business must obtain the relevant registration. The FCA said no registered P2P crypto businesses currently operate in the UK.
