US Holds 15 of the World's Top 20 Hyperscale Datacenter Markets
Synergy Research finds Northern Virginia alone hosts nearly 12% of global hyperscale capacity, with US builds now moving inland to states like Indiana and Tennessee.

The United States now accounts for 15 of the world's 20 largest hyperscale datacenter markets, according to new figures from Synergy Research reported by The Register.
Northern Virginia stands out as the single biggest location, hosting close to 12 percent of global hyperscale capacity on its own. US markets have strengthened their position in the rankings as cloud infrastructure continues to expand.
The composition of the top 20 has shifted over the past year. Tokyo, Sydney, and South Carolina fell out of the list, replaced by Indiana, Tennessee, and China's Guangdong province, a change that reflects new builds moving to inland US states. Of the five markets outside the US, four are in the Asia-Pacific region and only one, Dublin, is in Europe.
