Zopa, the UK digital bank, has introduced AI voice technology that lets customers carry out everyday banking tasks by speaking to a personal digital assistant, according to Tech.eu.
Customers of the savings and current account provider, which has more than two million users, can now instruct the AI-powered assistant to handle payments, money transfers and other routine tasks. According to Tech.eu, users can also snap a photo of a bill and tell Zopa what they need by voice or written chat. The company says the assistant can remember and personalise experiences.
Zopa says the feature is designed to help customers manage money more quickly and cut down on manual processes. The technology was trialled before being rolled out to all of the bank's current account customers. It is built on Zopa's proprietary AI platform and what the bank describes as an agentic architecture.
