AMD intends to substantially boost its chip supply in 2027, chief executive Lisa Su said while speaking to reporters in Taipei on Tuesday, according to TechPowerUp. Su acknowledged that demand is still outpacing what the company can currently deliver.
The company has already expanded supply over the course of 2026, Su said, and expects a larger increase in 2027, though she noted AMD could still use more capacity. She pointed to very high demand extending over the next several years and said more advanced wafer capacity would be needed to meet it.
Su is making her third visit to Taiwan this year, with meetings scheduled with partners including Foxconn, Quanta, Acer and ASUS, as well as chip manufacturer TSMC. She is also reported to be travelling to South Korea later in the week to meet memory suppliers Samsung and SK Hynix.
