AWS Says Some Middle East Cloud Data Is Lost After Damage in Iran Conflict
Amazon Web Services says it cannot restore resources held only in its damaged Bahrain Region and one UAE Availability Zone following wartime strikes.

Amazon Web Services has told customers that it cannot recover resources and data hosted exclusively in parts of its Middle East infrastructure after datacenters were damaged during the conflict between the United States and Iran.
In an update to its AWS Health Dashboard, the company confirmed that anything held solely in its Bahrain Region, identified as me-south-1, remains inaccessible. According to The Register, the update states that the damage to the infrastructure spanned multiple Availability Zones and exceeded what the company's regional and multi-AZ services are built to withstand. After assessing the situation, AWS concluded it could not restore access to data hosted exclusively in that Region.
