Every match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be safeguarded by counter-drone technology, according to a White House official cited by ABC News. The measure applies to all 78 fixtures scheduled across the tournament.

Among the firms involved in the effort is D-Fend Solutions, which Unmanned Systems Technology reports has secured a role providing counter-drone capability for the event. The company's technology is designed to detect and take control of unauthorized drones rather than simply disrupt them.
