CXMT Reportedly Prepares Move Into NAND Flash Market
China's largest DRAM maker is said to be setting up a 3D NAND research and production line at a new plant near Beijing, according to Reuters reporting.

CXMT, described as China's largest maker of DRAM memory, is reportedly preparing to expand into the NAND flash market, according to a Reuters report cited by TechPowerUp and Tom's Hardware.
Reuters, citing three people familiar with the company's plans, reported that CXMT intends to build a 3D NAND research and development production line at a second manufacturing facility near Beijing. The company has also established a research institute in the capital, and NAND flash development is said to be among the projects underway there, according to one source.
A move into NAND would place CXMT alongside global players such as Samsung, and against domestic rival YMTC, which already ranks third in NAND shipments. Both CXMT and YMTC still trail larger foreign competitors.
