Hypersonica, a British-German defence startup working on long-range hypersonic missiles, has raised €100m in a Series B funding round, the company announced.
The round was co-led by US investors Lightspeed and General Catalyst, both active backers of European defence companies, with participation from existing investors including Plural and 201 Ventures. The raise follows a €23.2m Series A in February this year, which was led by Plural, with General Catalyst and 201 Ventures also taking part.
Founded in 2023, Hypersonica is headquartered in Munich and operates a subsidiary in London. The company says it aims to build military technology faster and at lower cost than established defence firms, while helping Europe secure a sovereign long-range strike capability and reduce its dependence on US technology.
