Rayda, a platform focused on fixed-asset and IT device lifecycle management, has spent its first three years shifting from a narrow focus on asset tracking toward a broader ambition: overseeing everything that occurs between the moment an employee joins a company and the point they leave. The company, which launched in 2023, shared its early journey in an interview with TechCabal.
From a Genomics Startup to a New Idea
The origins of Rayda trace back to a logistics headache. Co-founder and chief executive officer Francis Osifo previously served as chief technology officer and co-founder at 54gene, a genomics startup that later shut down in 2023. According to TechCabal, 54gene had hired an employee in Kenya and needed to send a laptop from Nigeria. The device became stuck in customs for close to two months, and clearing it turned into a costly process for the company.
