Keychron has expanded its low-profile keyboard family with the launch of the K5 Ultra 8K, a full-size wireless mechanical keyboard that pairs a 100% layout with cherry wood accents. The release follows the company's recent introductions of the K4 Ultra and K10 Ultra, according to TechPowerUp.
What the K5 Ultra Offers
The K5 Ultra sits within Keychron's low-profile K Ultra series and shares the ZMK firmware used across the range. Connectivity mirrors that of the earlier K3 Ultra, with both 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.2 support, alongside wired USB Type-C. TechPowerUp reports the keyboard can reach polling rates of up to 8 kHz over both the wired connection and the 2.4 GHz link.
Power comes from a 2,400 mAh battery. Keychron cites up to 370 hours of use on a single charge when the backlighting is switched off and the keyboard operates at an 8 kHz polling rate. The device uses a full-size layout that includes a programmable knob positioned above the backspace key and a macro row above the number pad.
