
Leak Points to Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Breaking the 5GHz Barrier

Qualcomm's upcoming flagship smartphone processor may carry the name Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, according to a leak reported by Android Authority.
Citing a Weibo post from the tipster Digital Chat Station, the report says the chip, previously expected to be branded the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and carrying model number SM8975, could instead adopt the longer Extreme name. The leaked specifications indicate two prime cores running at 5.01GHz, alongside three performance cores and three efficiency cores. If accurate, that clock speed would push a smartphone chipset past the 5GHz mark.
