Microsoft Extends Auto SR Upscaling to Intel's Panther Lake Chips
Microsoft has added Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 Panther Lake platform to its Automatic Super Resolution support list, promising higher frame rates in games without native upscaling.

Microsoft has widened hardware support for its Automatic Super Resolution (Auto SR) feature to include Intel's flagship Panther Lake mobile platform, according to TechPowerUp.
Auto SR, first introduced in 2024, is a resolution upscaling tool built into Windows. It is designed to be hardware-agnostic and runs on NPU-powered devices, stepping in when a game does not offer its own upscaling technology. With the latest update, Intel Core Ultra Series 3 designs, marketed under the Panther Lake name, have been added to the supported list.
Microsoft advises that where a game supports Intel's native XeSS Super Resolution, players should use that option. Auto SR is intended as an alternative for titles that lack XeSS-SR, applying upscaling across existing games without requiring the feature to be integrated into the game itself.
