The National Hockey League has begun a new chapter in its regional-production setup, standing up a centralized operation that manages local game and studio broadcasts for six clubs, according to Sports Video Group.
The league's internal media and content unit, NHL Productions, is delivering production services for the Anaheim Ducks, Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues. A shared graphics ecosystem forms part of that offering.
To build the package on a compressed timeline, the league engaged Gameday Creative, which designed a hub-and-spoke infrastructure and assembled the full set of on-air elements from the ground up. That included wrap-around graphics, insert graphics, a new scorebug, and studio and set components, Sports Video Group reported. The system was built to support each team's individual variations and to accommodate future expansion.
