SK Hynix Reportedly in Talks With Intel on US Memory Chip Production

South Korean memory maker SK Hynix is reportedly in discussions with Intel about manufacturing memory chips in the United States, according to reporting by Reuters cited by Tom's Hardware.
The talks are said to focus on producing high-bandwidth memory (HBM), a component in heavy demand for artificial intelligence data centers. According to Tom's Hardware, the options under consideration include leasing space at Intel's under-construction Ohio One facility, or setting up a joint venture involving Intel and other large AI infrastructure operators seeking HBM supply.
Both companies declined to confirm the reports. SK Hynix told TechCrunch that it had not finalized any plans or arrangements. Tom's Hardware noted that SK Hynix could be in a sensitive position given ongoing trade discussions between Seoul and Washington.
