SK Hynix is reportedly in discussions with Intel over a deal that could see the South Korean chipmaker produce memory chips in the United States for the first time, according to a Reuters report cited by GSMArena.
Citing people familiar with the matter, the report outlines two possible paths for such an arrangement. Under one scenario, SK Hynix would lease part of Intel's chip manufacturing facility in Ohio. Alternatively, the two companies could set up a joint venture, potentially alongside unnamed major cloud firms said to be seeking to secure a steady supply of memory chips.
