Swiss photonics company Aylight has closed a pre-seed funding round of €4.5 million, according to Tech.eu, to accelerate work on its chip-scale multiwavelength laser technology. The investment reflects growing interest across Europe in the specialised hardware that supports artificial intelligence infrastructure, where the movement of data between chips is becoming a decisive factor in overall system performance.
Who is behind the round
Aylight was founded in 2025 by Bahareh Marzban and Dmitry Kazakov, following research conducted at ETH Zürich. The company emerged from academic work into a commercial venture focused on optical communication and sensing components.
