A cluster of newly announced funding rounds underscores where global investors are placing bets across artificial intelligence, financial data infrastructure and deeptech hardware. For African developers, traders and startups increasingly plugged into cross-border tools and capital flows, the deals highlight the platforms and technologies gaining momentum in markets that span Europe, the United States and beyond.
Open AI Tooling and Market Data Attract Capital
Ollama has secured $65 million in a Series B round aimed at expanding its open AI developer platform, according to Ventureburn. The round was led by Theory Ventures, with participation from Benchmark, 8VC, Y Combinator, Pace Capital, 49 Palms, GTMFund and others. The company said the funds will support product development, cloud expansion and hiring.
