Block, the payments company behind the Cash App peer-to-peer service, has agreed to a $45 million settlement resolving a multi-state investigation in the United States, according to Finextra Research. The agreement covers 46 US states that examined allegations the firm did not adequately shield Cash App users from fraudulent activity.
What the settlement covers
The probe centred on claims that Cash App, Block's widely used peer-to-peer money transfer application, fell short in protecting customers from fraud. The $45 million payment brings that state-level inquiry to a close.
