iFixit has published its teardown of the iPhone Duo, Apple's first folding handset, offering a detailed look at how the device is built and how easily it can be repaired.
According to the teardown, the Duo received a repairability rating of 5 out of 10. GSMArena reported that this places the device ahead of competing foldables on that measure. For comparison, Samsung's Z Fold8 was given a 4/10 rating, while the previous model in that line scored 3/10.
The teardown also examined the device's folding display and hinge mechanism. Engadget noted that the complex folding screen made the breakdown particularly notable, and pointed to potential causes behind reports of cracked screens. GSMArena said the analysis addressed recent accounts of malfunctioning hinges on some early units, describing the complex hinge as a point of concern.
