Microsoft has begun rolling out a redesigned Windows 11 Search to Insiders that cuts visual clutter, removes promotions, and prioritizes local results over web ads.

Microsoft has started testing an overhauled version of the Windows 11 Search Box, aiming to reduce clutter and strip out promotional content that previously surfaced alongside user queries. The changes are being distributed to participants in the Windows Insider program via the Experimental Channel, according to reporting from TechPowerUp and BleepingComputer.
For users and businesses across the Africa–Europe technology corridor, where Windows remains a dominant desktop platform in offices, schools, and public institutions, the update targets a routine daily interaction. A search interface that returns clearer results with fewer distractions could have a modest but broad impact on everyday productivity for the large base of Windows 11 users in both regions.
