Tesla has introduced a vehicle-to-load (V2L) adapter in the United States, allowing owners of the Model Y Premium to draw power directly from their vehicle's battery. According to Electrek, the feature has been switched on for the Model Y Premium in both the US and Puerto Rico, delivering 2.4 kW at 120 volts and 20 amps.
The accessory costs around $80 and is sold through the Tesla Shop, as reported by electrive.com. Electrek noted that the adapter can also be added during vehicle configuration.
Availability is limited. The adapter is aimed at Model Y Premium models, so the basic variants are excluded for the time being, per electrive.com. Electrek added that not every Model Y Premium is capable of using the feature.
