
Binance Shared Russian User's Data in Ukraine Donation Case, Reuters Reports
Binance provided Russian investigators with data on a user accused of sending crypto to Ukrainian forces, despite leaving the Russian market in 2023.

Binance gave Russian authorities personal and transaction data belonging to a user later charged in a terrorism-financing case, according to reporting by Reuters cited by several crypto outlets.
The user, Yuri Belenkiy, described as a Russian IT specialist, is accused of sending more than $700 in cryptocurrency to the Ukrainian military and to the Azov Brigade, also known as the Azov Regiment, which Moscow designates as a terrorist organisation. Cointelegraph, citing Reuters, reported that the exchange supplied transaction records and identity documents that were used in the case against him.
