
Riot Games to End Development of Fighting Game 2XKO
Riot Games will stop developing its tag-team fighting game 2XKO, citing player retention it says is not sustainable. Content updates will continue for a period before support ends.

Riot Games has confirmed it will halt development of its tag-team fighting game 2XKO, pointing to declining player numbers.
According to TechPowerUp, the game appeared to have solid prospects heading into launch, with Riot committing substantial resources to the project. After release, however, the company found the audience was not sustainable and later laid off roughly half of the developers assigned to the title. Just over six months after that round of cuts, Riot said it would pull development support.
In its announcement, Riot said the game's trajectory was painting a clear, consistent picture that retention was not sustainable, as reported by TechPowerUp. The company noted that while 2XKO began with reasonable player counts, those figures fell after players spent time with it.
