Samsung has begun rolling out a surprise software update for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 to units outside the United States, according to Android Authority. The update was first noticed on US variants a couple of months ago and is now appearing on global models.
Official software support for both phones ended years ago, which made the earlier US release notable. Samsung's changelog describes only generic stability and reliability improvements, and the outlet reported that it is not clear exactly what the update addresses. The size of the download suggests additional changes may be included.
